Unwrapping Our Favorite Projects of 2021

Project #1: To the Kitchen and Beyond!

We got started on this kitchen project in early 2021, completing it this past summer. We eliminated a closet to the hallway that freed up space for a dry bar in the kitchen area and took their old obtrusive peninsula-style kitchen to a much more open floor plan with an island. We updated the bookcases in the family room, gave the dining room a simple, but impactful update, and are already planning the master bath renovation as our next project together!

We collaborated with Tyler Swartzmiller of Haus Studio Designs on this project and the homeowners loved everything he suggested from the moment we entered his studio and saw the renderings. We also worked with America’s Floor Source for the backsplash and Worly Plumbing Supply for the fixtures.

Their project was featured in The Summit Magazine in September 2021.

Project #2: Spacious Screened-In Porch

This screened-in porch and new patio in the Ballantrae neighborhood are amazing! Designed by Mary Shipley Smith, this project has so many details to it that make it unique that we don’t know where to start. We love the detailed custom railing on the lower half of the screens, along with the screened barn door and curved hearth with a rustic beam mantle. Step outside onto the patio and even the steps are creatively designed with curved concrete and lighting. Every detail is intentional and creates a beautiful space for the family to enjoy.

Project #3: Fun and Funky Space Upgrades

This family with two young girls and Bozley the Boxer lived in Worthington in a 3 bedroom/two-bath home that they were quickly outgrowing!  An addition designed by architect Pete Foster expanded the existing bedroom and bathroom spaces and converted one of the bedrooms into a living space used as a home office/lounge that opens to the family room.

We started this project in the thick of COVID with homeschooling in progress, with both parents working from home!  Fortunately, the existing kitchen and living space were relativity uninterrupted during the majority of the construction.  The end results are stunning…not just from the exterior, but the interior exudes the fun, funky nature of this amazing family that’s not afraid of stylistic risks!

We loved every minute of working with these clients!
