Kitchen + Bath Trends for 2023

2023 is here and it’s time to catch up on what’s still in style and what feels outdated when it comes to your home’s kitchen and bathrooms. These are two of the signature spaces in your room and it is important that they feel (and look) the best they can. Let’s go over some design IN’s and OUT’s when it comes to your kitchen and bathroom.

Kitchen

OUT: All white everything

Trust us, we love white kitchens, too! Over the past few years, it has been a prominent way to showcase modern and sleek design. And while we don’t think it will ever truly go away, there is a trend toward infusing other elements into kitchen designs. Committed to your white kitchen? try infusing your personality into the space, whether that include textural elements, pops of color, or personal items.

IN: Color

Keep the clean and classic look that comes with a white kitchen, but, consider incorporating some color options, as well. This is a great way to make the space feel a bit more inviting and comfortable for you and your guests. Also don’t be afraid of some slight, visible wear and tear in your kitchen, it only shows that you use the space and adds overall charm.

OUT: Unnecessary accessories

While kitchens should be nice to look at, the fact is they are the heart of the home and need to be functional. Kitchens are used daily, often multiple times a day, and there’s nothing worse than having to move a bunch of decorative objects out of the way in order to cook. In 2023, it may be wise to remove or relocate those objects and make the most out of your usable space.

IN: Usable, working elements

Rather than filling your kitchen with decorative pieces, don’t be afraid to showcase your appliances. You can find microwaves, coffee machines, and toasters in many different colors and styles to match your kitchen’s aesthetic. This will make your kitchen more comfortable and easier to use. Working pantries are also expected to become more popular as they make prep and cleaning easier and offer an old school charm to the space.

Bathrooms

OUT: Everything white

Similar to kitchens, all-white bathrooms are also expected to start decreasing in trend with the new year. White bathrooms will always be a strong design option, but splashes of color can really help the feel of the space. Much like kitchens, splashes of texture and/or color can really brighten up the space.

IN: Light color and texture

While *all* white bathrooms may be slightly going out of style, bold colors are not ideal in your bathroom design either. It’s important to find a happy medium where you brighten the room but not overwhelm it. Light colors and slight texture are prime examples of this balance. The use of darker, basic colors like black and gray create a good balance with white-based kitchens as well.

IN: Decorative lighting

Decorative lighting is a great functional and stylish element to begin incorporating into your bathrooms in 2023. We encourage simple decorative lighting, as not to overwhelm the space with light. Subtle and fashionable is the way to go.
